The Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music
Whether your forte is country, bluegrass or jazz, Marion County has it all. Enjoy a Saturday night at Sagebrush Round-Up www.billjanoske.tripod.com – the best country music show around. Travel the circuit and visit other year-round music shows within a short distance from Marion County. The Orange Blossom Trail Music Hall www.orangeblossomtrailmusichall.com
in Lost Creek features the house band Johnny Cochran and the Trail Blazers as well as guest bands throughout the season. American Mountain Theater www.americanmountaintheater.com in Elkins boasts the freshest sound in the mountains. The theater also features a “Branson style” music and comedy variety show. Or enjoy a free outdoor concert at the Prickett’s Fort Amphitheater www.prickettsfort.org. Follow Heston Farm Winery on Facebook to see who will be playing in their courtyard. The concerts run from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm every Saturday night. You definitely want to be here in July for the Blues & Jazz Festival held at the Heston Farms Winery. This year the festival is July 13-15, 2012. If you can’t be here for the Blues & Jazz Festival, maybe you can join us at Prickett’s Fort on July 27, 2012 for a Ceilidh – a traditional meal and an evening of entertainment. Appalachian Celtic group, Mountain Thyme, will perform traditional Scottish, Irish and Appalachian tunes. On the evenings of August 6-11, 2012 the Mannington District Fair www.manningtondistrictfair.org hosts “up and coming” music talent.
