Get ready for more free concerts at historic Pricketts Fort. This month, catch up with harmonious bluegrass group Border Ride and fun-loving Bear Hill Bluegrass. And toward the end of August, The Allies Band hits the stage with classic rock.
Palatine Park’s outdoor shows also shake things up with a Southern Rock Concert and Parrot Head Party, complete with island tunes and tangy Polynesian music!

Fairs and offbeat fun
Treat your tastebuds to that unmistakable taste of summer— vine-ripe tomatoes— at the 8th Annual Tomato Festival on Aug. 21. Drive over to the 84th Mannington District Fair for Sue Wee’s Flying Pigs, a demolition derby, circus, rides and lots more.
Looking for unusual activities to fill your calendar? Pricketts Fort’s Tatting Workshop lets you try your hand at lace making. At the 5k Splash of Color, get painted blue, green, yellow orange and pink for every kilometer you complete! And at Palatine Park, Civil War reenactors Averell’s Raiders gallop onto the scene.
