Spring Fever Cure #1 – Paw Paw Fairgrounds

Just what the doctor ordered! Watch drivers from all over rip-it-up at the Paw Paw Fairground’s notorious mud bog event! Or, test out your own driving skills by entering your truck for a chance to win. Who knows, you might be the next mud bog champion!  The event is May 2nd and starts at 6 pm (gates open at 3 pm). Tickets are $6 per person. Driver registration takes place the day of the event, so don’t be late. Don’t be a stick in the mud, go mud bogg’n!

2     Spring Fever Cure #2 –
Great Buffalo Canoe Race

Still feeling restless? Watch or enter one of the most challenging canoe races around! Hit the rapids and paddle on down the Buffalo on May 2nd. Registration    starts at 8 am at the Hough Park gym in Mannington. The race begins at 9 am. Cost is $10 and you must have a life jacket! Kids under 15 must have a parent or legal  guardian sign a waiver form. The race ends at the walking bridge in Farmington and a small reception at the Farmington Fire Department will be waiting for you  following the race.  If you have any questions please call 304-365-3553. Spring Fever Cure #3 –
WV Three Rivers Festival3

If you still have the itch to get out there and do something fun then you’re in luck! The famous WV Three Rivers Festival is May 21 – 23 and is just what the doctor ordered. The smell of cotton candy, elephant ears and other classic festival foods is enough to lift anyone’s spirits. Parades, rides, wood carving, strongman contests, live entertainment, pepperoni bake offs and epic fireworks are only a few of the spectacles that will take place during the three day celebration. 4     Spring Fever Cure #4 –
Guyses Run Fishing Park

Spring means fishing! Guyses Run Fishing Park is perfect the family. Located off exit 137 off I-79/Rt. 310 South toward Grafton on Colfax Road, the fishing park  offers fishermen of all ages the chance to catch trout, bluegill and catfish in any of their three big ponds. The cost is $2-3 per adult and children under the age of 6 are  free. The ponds are catch and release only, however, you can keep trout for $4 each.

Spring Fever Cure #5 – Spring Bird Walks at Pricketts Fort5

Celebrate the joys of spring with a Saturday morning bird walk.  Staff of the WV Department of Natural Resources will lead the way on this annual rite of passage.  Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring your binoculars. The guided walks will take place April 18th, 25th and May 2nd beginning at 8:00 am
