Worthington, WV

The community of Worthington was incorporated in 1893. It is the namesake of Colonel George Worthington, an early settler of the town. Worthington is located along the West Fork River. Enjoy a quiet moment at Worthington Park, a beautiful 10-acre waterfront area that offers softball fields, picnicking spots, a playground, fishing opportunities, and horseshoe courts. The park is located beside the West Fork River Rail Trail. The trail’s path was once used by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad to deliver coal. Today, the path travels through wooded passages and over a historical railroad bridge along the West Fork River.

A notable Worthington resident is Steve Allen, an audio producer, and engineer. In 2007, Allen named his company, Worthington Music Group, after his hometown.
