Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival Weekend

Celebrate the holidays in Marion County! Join us December 13–15 for a special weekend of events observing the area’s Italian heritage. Add in good, local eats, and you’ve got a full plate! 

Friday, December 13

Lunch 

  • Woody’s Hot Dogs

801 Morgantown Avenue, Fairmont

For a taste of nostalgia, visit Woody’s Hot Dogs. The casual eatery serves hotdogs with sauce and a tangy, sweet signature slaw as well as pork barbecue sandwiches and Colasessano’s pepperoni buns.  

Evening Activity

Enjoy special cooking demonstrations — with samples — of traditional Italian holiday dishes during the 14th annual Festival Cucina Cooking School. Tickets are required. Order online at mainstreetfairmont.org. 

An annual holiday tradition, the Celebration of Lights in Morris Park features more than 475 light displays over a 1.3-mile drive. 

Dinner 

Colasessano’s has been serving the Fairmont area since 1950. Order one of their pepperoni buns, made with sauce, cheese and Oliverio’s peppers.

Saturday, December 14

Breakfast/Coffee 

A favorite local hangout, Joe N’ Throw is a relaxed coffeehouse/pottery studio offering a variety of coffee drinks made from locally roasted beans, craft brews and a small food menu. 

Morning/Daytime Activities 

Observe our region's coal mining heritage at the Miner's Appreciation Day Swap Meet. Vendors and collectors can buy, sell, trade or have memorabilia appraised.

Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival is Marion County’s official holiday celebration. This daylong street fair honors all things Italian and features an array of food and wine, music, an artisan market and more.  

  • Woman's Club of Fairmont Tea and Historic Home Tour (12–3 p.m.)

300 1st Street, Fairmont 

Snack on Italian cookies and tea and take a guided tour of the historic Fleming Mansion, home to the Woman’s Club of Fairmont. 

Late Afternoon/Evening Activities

  • Holiday Homecoming & Fairmont Christmas Parade (3–7 p.m.)

Main Street, Fairmont 

In honor of Fairmont's 200th birthday, enjoy a Holiday Homecoming, with decorated storefronts, carolers, vendors, a visit from Santa and other activities. The Fairmont Christmas Parade will also take place at 5 p.m.

Dinner 

Muriale’s Restaurant, a staple since 1969, serves Italian recipes that have been passed down for generations. Try the spaghetti and meatballs, which was just recently named by Food Network as one of the 98 best pasta dishes in the country

Sunday, December 15

Breakfast/Lunch

For a quintessential 1950s diner experience, visit DJ’s 50’s and 60’s Diner. The restaurant serves breakfast all day, along with homemade lunch and dinner specials, desserts and old-fashioned ice cream floats and shakes.
