July 3:  National Family Reunion Month

July is National Family Reunion Month, so get your family together to create some wonderful memories. Although first instated in 1985 to raise awareness about runaway children, it is now observed by families all over as a great way to bond. July is a popular time to plan a family reunion because the summer season offers beautiful weather and numerous activities.

Contact the Marion County CVB for help in planning your reunion.  Visit our website to view our visitor guide and calendar of events.  Call the office to request copies of our visitor guide, help secure hotel room blocks/rates, to receive a discount on admission to some of our first-rate attractions or receive a list of caterers to feed your crowd.

The West Virginia Department of Commerce is again offering reunion kits for people coming home to the Mountain State in 2012. Perfect for reunion planners, the kits welcome people to West Virginia by providing postcards, state highway maps, travel guides and Genuine West Virginia goodie bags. The application can be found at http://www.wvcommerce.org/people/reunions/reunionapplication/default.aspx or call 800.982.3386. Once approved, reunion kits can be picked up at the visitor center.
