When Life Gives you Lemons…Find a Stand!
May 16, 2014
National Lemonade Day is May 3, 2014. But we’ve had a better idea!
Our Lemonade Day is going to be way cooler! (Pun intended)
Why? Because it’s on May 23 and 24. Talk about big business. Fifth grade students from schools around the county will be making tons of dough (they hope) from their lemons at Pricketts Fort during their Sheep to Shawl weekend and at the Marion County Visitor Center during the Third Annual Jerry Ragen Classic Car Show.
What’s Lemonade Day? Well, it isn’t just one day, I’ll tell you that. Children prepare, plan and work hard to make Lemonade Day a personal and financial success.
It’s just a lemonade stand though, isn’t it?
Is it?
Is it?
Every year thousands of children around the United States participate in this traditional exchange of monetary means for services and products. In other words, children make lemonade for money (also known as every child’s first business endeavor).
And that is exactly how lemonadeday.org sees it— a short-term business venture where experience, learning and an understanding of basic business principles are the primary goals.
So save up your money! In Marion County, West Virginia, this year, our Lemonade Day will be May 23 and 24. Come out to the Three Rivers Festival to support local (and extremely young) businesses!
