June 7 Historic Floor Cloth Painting: with William Frankfort
Saturday 10am to 6pm
This weekend workshop will cover the history of floor cloths (1750-1800’s) which were used to keep areas of accumulated “filth” clean. A floor cloth is a painted piece of canvas that could be sponged or wiped off easily. In this entry level class students will make a small floor cloth about the size of a place matt. Students should bring duct tape, 1 small bottle of white craft paint, and 1 inexpensive 1inch paint brush. Please bring a brown bag lunch.
