10th Annual Julia Pierpont Day Celebration
Tickets for buffet breakfast cost $10 and can be purchased at the Marion County Historical Society – 210 Adams Street Fairmont
Ceremonies and breakfast to be held at Pierpont Community & Technical College Veterans Square, Room 112 and Woodlawn Cemetery Historic District

9:30 Buffet Breakfast
10:30 Depart for Woodlawn Cemetery
11:00 Placement of wreaths and flags at grave sites
Julia Pierpont, wife of Gov. Francis H. Pierpont and the father of WV, is honored on this day as the originator of “Decoration Day” now known as Memorial Day. Period music is provided by ‘We Three’. A civil exhibit and refreshments will also be provided at the Marion County Museum.
