Simple Gifts Folk Band at Pricketts Fort

On Friday, June 5th the duo called Simple Gifts will bring international folk music traditions to the park’s outdoor amphitheater at 7 pm. Simple Gifts is made up of two women and many instruments! Linda Littleton plays hammered dulcimer, bowed psaltry, and recorders. Karen Hirshon performs on baritone fiddle, mandolin, banjolin, bowed psaltry, guitjo, and a variety of percussion instruments. The women combine innovation with tradition and blend a warm performing style with enthusiasm for the music that is contagious. Throughout the performance, the artists demonstrate and explain the wide variety of instruments and styles they play. Audience participation is encouraged.
Chairs will be provided but visitors may also bring blankets to sit on. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.
