Decorated in its Christmas glory, the Fleming Mansion will don red, gold, and green and decorated in holiday finery. Guests will get a peek into the past.

The day includes a book signing by Dr. Raymond Alvarez, who researched and wrote “The Normal on the Avenue,” an account of the faculty, progress and growth of the institution through the early 20th century. There are 59 photographs and illustrations that provide a unique retrospect of students, faculty and the neighborhood during this time.

On the tour of the mansion, visitors will see historic clothing of the era. /students from Pierpont Community and Technical College’s History of Fashion class in the Applied Design program, under the direction of Dr. Beth Newcome, will help tell the story with information and displays from the historic costume collection, 1895-1915.
