New Grade, New You
11 answers on how to get ready for a new school yearAugust 13, 2019
I have good news and bad news…
The bad news? A new grade or a new school can be daunting, to say the least. How to impress, how to study, how to make friends, how to feel confident. It’s tons of questions who even know the answers to – and all of it before class even begins!
Here’s the good news: I can give you some ideas of where the general answers might be found…
Because the first week of school definitely calls for new outfits. (This is more a necessity of confidence than an actual necessity, but I digress). Their clothing is made right here with original style and flair.
This boutique has all the designer brands sans the designer price. Plus, you can be environmentally friendly and financially savvy spending some dough here.
Complete the ensemble with a trip to A Pied, designer footwear plus beautiful bags and wallets. This completes the trifecta of a quick and easy shopping plan!
Get all your primping done at Tuscan Sun Spa. Nails, skin, hair, makeup – the works! The pampering alone will wash away your worries! (Plus, they’ll teach you how to apply the makeup!)
For the guys…
Tame the hair with a nice cut at Tuscan or go old school (no pun intended – well, maybe a little) at Simple Cutz Barbershop.
It’s not just about the outside, but the inside that really makes a new you. Take steps toward emotional and physical health with a beginner’s yoga class, a strength class or a restorative class.
Again, it’s all about what’s inside. So detox from that sugar and give your body some nutrients. This will do wonders for your state of mind, your skin, and your pancreas.
It’s also what’s in your head that counts. Get some good literature here, plus learning tools for the younger ones.
Study the classics: Schopenhauer, Beethoven, Blondie, Foo Fighters… wait… Better yet, see some of it live by professional musicians brought specially to Fairmont by the Fairmont Chamber Music Society.
Get some Vitamin D and oxygen out on the rocks and out on the trails. Enjoy the end of summer and the beginning of something new!
In the end, there’s a lot more good news than bad news, really. You can prepare yourself for a new place while discovering a whole new you!
