Be Your Own Valentine!February 10, 2016
Ah, Valentine’s Day… a day dedicated to romance and couples. Just like everyone needs, right? Not necessarily!
Singles don’t have to feel left out! Instead of sitting around and moping, make it a day about you!
Splurge On Yourself
Go ahead! On Valentine’s Day, buy yourself something special. Treat yourself to a girl-tastic gift (a little bling and a heavenly massage or facial from Tuscan Spa? Or those killer heels at The Fashion Scene that you’ve been coveting, perhaps?) When you’re loving your body and the clothes you’re in, you’ll feel invincible against V-Day.
Get giddy over gold at White’s Fine Jewelry. Show your Valentine some love this year especially if that someone is you!
Stop by Perennial Floral and order a beautiful bouquet. Write an affirming message on the card, and have them delivered to work. When someone asks who they’re from, just answer: “Someone who really loves me for me!”
A Night Out
No date? No problem! Go out and celebrate with your pals! Many places in Fairmont, like Copper House Grill, have specially priced drink nights in celebration of single ladies. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet other singles in your area. Make it a fun night out whether you are single or in an “it’s complicated” kind of relationship.
If the bar scene isn’t for you, Da Vinci & Dessert is doing “Coffee Lover” painting for their Valentine’s Day Weekend Special Event. Can’t draw a stick figure or paint a circle? That’s okay! No experience necessary! A DaVinci & Dessert instructor will walk you step-by-step through the painting process, and at the end of the event you will have your very own masterpiece. It is the perfect girls’ night out. Remember, it’s BYOB (or wine) and favorite snacks!
Or, if you want a quiet evening by yourself, maybe stop at Kerri’s Korner Bookstore and pick up the newest mystery bestseller or classic novel, snuggle into your favorite armchair and pour yourself a glass of mead from Mountain Dragon Mazery paired with chocolate-covered strawberries from All Things Herbal. What’s better than a good book and chocolate?
Since Valentine’s Day is all about love, spend the day loving yourself.
Valentine’s Day falls on Sunday this year, so why not celebrate all
Play hooky from work (or just leave an hour early) and do whatever you want, whether it be a day pampering yourself or staying home. Splurge without guilt, because you deserve a little extra TLC! Pick the day that best suites your schedule.
