Don't Miss The Great Pepperoni Roll Drop!

Ring in 2023 with Mannington’s 4th Annual New Year’s Eve Great Pepperoni Roll Drop! Enjoy an evening of live music, games, fire pits and various food vendors. The festivities begin at 7 p.m. The Raising of the Roll starts at 9 p.m., with the countdown to the new year starting at 11:59 p.m.

Run To Read Marathon

Kickstart your healthy habits this new year while supporting a great cause! Race through Prickett’s Fort State Park and support the Literacy Volunteers of Marion County in the Run to Read Half Marathon on January 14. This 18th annual race begins at 1 p.m., with race day registration at 11:30 a.m. You can register for this race online now.

Upcoming Concerts

The second half of the Fairmont Chamber Music Society’s season starts on January 29 with Vision Duo. This ambitious duo performs classical music with a contemporary twist. Tickets may be purchased at the door ($10 for adults and $6 for seniors and students).

Weekly Live Music

Live music returns to the Sagebrush Round-Up on February 18. Enjoy performances every Saturday evening at West Virginia’s Country Music Hall of Fame. Come early and try a home-cooked dinner. And be sure to snap a selfie in front of the large acoustic guitar!

Prickett's Fort Show

Pricketts Fort’s 18th Century Firearms and Accoutrements Show will be February 24-25. The show will feature numerous vendors and craftsmen from the Appalachian region who specialize in crafting 18th-century weaponry, such as rifles, gunpowder horns, knives, tomahawks and decorative items, including leather pouches and quilt work. The show dates are Friday, February 24 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, February 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fairmont Ice Bowl

The 19th Annual Fairmont Ice Bowl will be on February 25 at Morris Park. The Ice Bowl is a national charity disc golf program that raises donations for local food banks, and proceeds from this tournament are going to the Fairmont Soup Opera. Entry for the Ice Bowl is $30 and a food donation. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in singles, doubles and overall. Register for this event today!

Marion History Expo

Discover the rich history of Marion County and West Virginia through historical-themed exhibits at the Mountaineer State History Expo on March 25. The event will take place at the Marion County Courthouse from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to exhibits, there will be Civil War interpreters and live music. If you are interested in having a display, please contact the Marion County Historical Society for an application.
