Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival

When it’s Christmas season in Fairmont, everyone is Italian! Join us for a holiday weekend of fun during the Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival on December 7-9. This annual festival celebrates our Italian holiday traditions of feasting on fish dishes and delicious desserts with friends and family. Make the most of your weekend in Marion County by filling up your itinerary with some of our favorite seasonal events. 

Psst… you can get a taste of the feast the day before during the Christmas Market! There’s a secret event called Taste of the Feast on December 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hometown Christmas Market

Get in the Christmas spirit with the Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 7 at 6 p.m. As the tree sparkles to life, warm up with a hot chocolate station and listen to Christmas tunes from the Madrigals. Afterward, wrap up your holiday shopping at the Hometown Christmas Market, featuring a variety of arts and crafts vendors and local businesses. The market will also be open on Friday, December 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, December 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Christmas Parades Throughout Marion County

Celebrate Christmas in style with our exciting parades! The White Hall parade is scheduled for Thursday, December 7 at 7 p.m. Enjoy the parade and stick around for post-event festivities featuring food vendors, a mobile bakery, hot chocolate and coffee, Christmas wreath vendors, music and photo opportunities with Santa.

The Fairmont Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 9 at 5 p.m. The Blessing of the First Responder entrants will line up as part of the parade, and the blessings on each vehicle will occur in front of the Marion County Courthouse. This event and registration are both free. Anyone interested in entering the parade can self-register by clicking here or by contacting the parade director. Additionally, mark your calendars for the Rivesville parade on December 16 at 4 p.m. and the Fairview parade at 5 p.m. on the same day.

Celebration of Lights

There’s no better way to enjoy the holiday season than with a trip to the Celebration of Lights in Morris Park! This 16th annual holiday tradition features more than 500 light displays over a 1.3-mile drive. The lights hit a little differently on walker nights, which are every Wednesday evening. Additionally, experience the festive displays up close during the Reindeer Run on December 12. The Celebration of Lights is open through December 30 from 6 to 10 p.m.

Coal Miner Appreciation Day

The Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival is the perfect time to honor our coal miners of every nationality. Come and celebrate the coal mining heritage of our region on December 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the third floor of Arts & Antiques Marketplace located in the Fairmont Mercantile to read more about Marion County’s mining history and share stories of fellow miners and their families.

Greenery Bazaar

Discover beautiful items to freshen up your homes this Christmas season at this fragrant and festive event! Hosted by the West Augusta Historical Society, the 2023 Greenery Bazaar will be on December 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Browse a variety of wreaths, Hamilton Round Barn and Price-Higgins Log Cabin ornaments and more! 

Holiday House Tour & Tea

Elevate your holiday experience with Tea at the Fleming Mansion. Enjoy tea, cookies and guided tours on December 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adorned in festive decorations, almost every grand room awaits your exploration. Tickets are available for $10 at the door. 

Winter At Woodlawn

Step into the past and experience the 1920s ambiance at Winter at Woodlawn. Explore the historic Woodlawn Cemetery, the final resting place of Fairmont's founding fathers. Visit on December 9 between 12 and 3 p.m. for an up-close look at the Superintendent's House and try gingerbread cookies crafted from a 1920s recipe.

Rivesville's Christmas Spectacular

Experience the festive extravaganza in Rivesville with the Christmas Spectacular! Join us as the town goes all out for Christmas this year. Dive into the holiday spirit at the craft and vendor show on December 16, starting at 9 a.m. Enjoy entertainment from Rivesville Elementary and Middle School as you shop for delightful holiday treasures.

Stone House Lavender

Still haven’t found that perfect gift? Visit the Stone House Lavender gift shop every Saturday between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. If the holidays have you feeling stressed, treat yourself to a moment of relaxation with a range of lavender-infused products, including pillow sprays, lip scrubs, lotions, bath melts and more — all crafted from the lavender grown in their fields.

The Great Pepperoni Roll Drop

Extend the festivities beyond the gift-giving season and join us for a spectacular New Year's celebration! Welcome 2024 with Mannington's 4th Annual New Year's Eve Great Pepperoni Roll Drop. Enjoy live music, games, beer gardens, fire pits and food vendors, creating the ideal atmosphere for a memorable New Year's Eve party. The festivities kick off at 9 p.m. on December 31 with the Raising of the Roll, followed by the descent of the giant pepperoni roll at precisely 11:59 p.m.
