Spend The Holidays In Marion County

The beloved Marion County tradition is back! The 15th Annual Celebration of Lights opens on November 25 and runs until December 30. Drive through 1.3 miles of mesmerizing light displays at Morris Park. The park will be closed every Wednesday of the season (weather permitting) for Walker Nights. Enjoy the lights up close and personal as you stroll through the park. Save the date for some fun holiday events, too! Find the perfect local gift during Market in the Park on November 19. Then, enjoy the crisp winter air during the Reindeer Run 5k on December 13.

Weekly Live Music

Every Saturday, enjoy live country music at Sagebrush Round-Up — the Country Music Hall of Fame for West Virginia — from 4 to 10 p.m. Come early to try a home-cooked dinner, and of course, be sure to snap a selfie in front of the large acoustic guitar.

Octoberfest

Enjoy the sights and sounds of autumn during Mannington’s Octoberfest on October 1. For more than three decades, residents and visitors have gathered for the annual Octoberfest, held on the first Saturday of the month. Food vendors, artisans, crafters and entertainers will line Market Street for the day. The festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. and run until 4 p.m.

Events At Prickett's Fort

Don’t miss all of the upcoming fall events at Prickett’s Fort! Watch as the Augusta County Militia explores the life and times of early Appalachian pioneers on October 1-2. Then, attend the Candle Making & Butter Churning Demonstration on October 22.

Holiday Events

Before the days of Black Friday shopping and LED lights, there were homemade wreaths, pine boughs and candles. This holiday season, experience how our colonial ancestors used to celebrate. Join us for the annual Pricketts Fort Christmas Tour. The tour includes period costumes, scenery and decor from the pioneer era. The holiday tours will take place on November 27, December 2 (this tour includes a hearth cooking demonstration) and December 4. There is also an option to enjoy a Candlelight Tour with live period music on November 26 and December 3.

Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival

Celebrate the holidays in Marion County with the annual Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival on December 9 and 10! Join us in observing the area’s Italian heritage with a special weekend of events, including a daylong street fair featuring an array of food, live music, an artisan market and more. Enjoy special cooking demonstrations — with samples — of traditional Italian holiday dishes during the Festival Cucina Cooking School on December 9.
