3 End of Summer Events at Palatine Park

With summer ending and fall coming, September at Palatine Park is a month of fun! From BBQ and Blues to a family dance night, Palatine Park knows how to throw a fun event everyone can enjoy!

1. September 10th, Palatine Park gets off the fun with the Mon River Blues & BBQ. Take a walk on the Blues highway while enjoying some delicious BBQ, ribs and brisket. But save room for dessert because the shaved ice van will be on hand as well as the ice cream truck.

Miss Freddye at Palatine Park

Miss Freddye Blues Band, or “Pittsburgh’s Lady of the Blues!” kicks off the blues event with her Chicago styled blues, influenced from artists of yester-years.

The Shades of Blues Blues Brothers Band Tribute

The Shades of Blues Band “Blues Brothers Tribute Band” follows next with most authentic tribute the stage has seen.

Dennis McClung Blues Band at Palatine Park

Marion County’s own favorite, The Dennis McClung Blues Band will wrap up the show with their mixture of Gospel, Blues, Swing, R&B, Rock & Roll, Classical, Flamenco, and Cajun, combining powerful blues and razor-honed guitar.

 

2. September 16th brings the Mon River Jam & Movie Night. Jimmy Swain, owner of Paradox Music, will kick off Mon River’s jam session. 

Up next, Tane Lynn & The Total Package will perform their classic country music with a unique flair.

The night will end with a showing of Pride Prejudice & Zombies, a classic with a unique modern day twist!

3. Family Night Dance Party will hit Palatine Park on September 16th. The event will be hosted by Todd Matthews, DJ & Sound Company, giving kids a chance to shake their tail feathers.

The night will also feature Miss Tea Cup and her face paintings, along with some inflatable kids play houses. The night will be one the whole family can enjoy!

Chill out at Palatine through September 30 – the last day for the Splash Pad to be open and don’t forget about the Sunday Flea Markets. You never know what treasures you will discover.

After a summer off, being back to school can be hard. Palatine Park helps ease you into fall!
