Things to Do

Marion County offers many attractions, events and activities, but they all have one common theme: relaxation.

No matter how you like to unwind, de-stress, or break free from work, we can find something to help you do it in convenient Marion County. Whether you want to spend time alone, with that special someone or with the entire family, we’ve got options to keep everyone happy.

We have so much Heritage that we had to create a special section just for those activities. But we have plenty of cutting-edge options, too, including popular newcomers such as geocaching. Bicycle rides along the river, on rail-trails or in the BMX Park attract hundreds every year.

If you want to enjoy some entertainment or cultural activities, consider the Sagebrush Round-Up on a Saturday night, or find out what theater or music might be scheduled at Fairmont State University or through the chamber music society.

A great way to unwind is to take a boat trip along the West Fork. Or try your luck at miniature golf or swing in the batting cages.

Golfers have several challenging options, and sports fans can check out the Falcons of Fairmont State in any number of West Virginia Conference matchups.

Our goal is to help you unwind. How you choose to do it is up to you.
