Military Honors Celebration

6:00 pm – FSU Academy for the Arts will preform
7:00 pm – Fairmont native and WWII veteran Asa Davison, along with Kip Price, who was raised in Piedmont and lived four doors down from Aubrey Stewart, have created a presentation honoring the Wereth 11 soldiers.
8:00 pm – the showing of Wereth 11. Eleven black soldiers of the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion of the US Army became separated from their unit and sought shelter in the rural village of Wereth, Belgium. These eleven men who were massacred during the Battle of the Bulge on December 17, 1944, yet remained unrecognized for many years.
