Trick-or-Treating in Marion County

kids in Halloween costumes

Fun and fright are just around the corner, and Marion County is getting ready to scare and be scared (in a fun way)!

Before you jump ahead to the bewitching hours (and by that, going door-to-door asking strangers for candy), here’s a quick recap of Halloween safety.

Halloween Safety

  1. Have sight. Carry glow sticks and flashlights to see where you’re going.
  2. Be visible. Get reflective tape and/or stickers to put on costumes and bags so drivers can see you.
  3. Be vigilant. Always look both ways before crossing the street.
  4. Be aware. Don’t text and walk.
  5. Be coordinated. Make sure your costume fits just right.
  6. It’s also better to complete your costume with face paints rather than a mask so as not to obscure your vision.
